| Beschreibung (dt.): | Anfang 2019 wurde von der FAO der Weltzustandsbericht zur Biodiversität für Ernäh¬rung und Landwirtschaft (SoWBFA-Bericht) veröffentlicht, der unter der Leitung der Kommission für genetische Ressourcen für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (CGRFA) ent¬stand. Der Bericht beschreibt den Zustand und das aktuelle Management der Biodiversität für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BFA) und zeigt auf, welche Erfordernisse zukünftig in Bezug auf eine nachhaltige Nutzung und Erhaltung bestehen. Das Ziel des Projekts ist die Verbesserung der Erhaltung und nachhaltigen Nutzung von BFA sowie die Fortführung des SoWBFA-Prozesses. Die CGRFA-Mitgliedstaaten sollen bei der Entwicklung und Umsetzung von entsprechenden Maßnahmen unterstützt wer¬den, die in der Verabschiedung eines globalen Aktionsplans (Global plan of Action, GPA) durch die FAO-Konferenz münden sollen. Dazu sollen regionale Workshops zur Sensibilisierung bzgl. der Ergebnisse des SoWBFA und zu Hintergrundinformationen zu BFA sowie zum Kapazitätsaufbau durchgeführt werden. Bis zu fünf Vorreiter-Staaten sollen zur Entwicklung einer nationalen Strategie für genetische Ressourcen für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft identifiziert werden und bei der Entwicklung und Umsetzung nationaler Strategien, Aktionspläne und Projekte unterstützt werden. Außerdem sollen Handlungsleitlinien entwickelt werden, die den Ländern helfen sollen, nationale Strategien und Aktionspläne vorzubereiten und nationale Maßnahmen umzusetzen. Die Erhaltung und nachhaltige Nutzung der genetischen Vielfalt für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft ist die Basis für die Anpassung Lebensmittel- und Rohstoffproduktion an sich ändernde Klima- und Umweltbedingungen und trägt somit zur Ernährungssicherung wie auch dem Erhalt der Biodiversität bei. |
| Beschreibung (engl.): | At the beginning of 2019, the FAO published the first report on the State of the World‘s Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture (SoWBFA Report), which was produced under the leadership of the Commission for Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA). The report describes the state and current management of biodiversity for food and agriculture (BFA) and shows what future requirements will exist with regard to sustainable use and conservation. The aim of the project is to improve the conservation and sustainable use of BFA and to continue the SoWBFA process. The CGRFA member states will be supported in the development and implementation of actions, which should result in the adoption of a global plan of action (GPA) by the FAO conference. This includes the organisation of four regional capacity-building workshops for increased awareness of the state of biodiversity for food and agriculture. Up to five front-runner countries will be identified for the development of a national strategy for genetic resources for food and agriculture and supported in the development and implementation of national strategies, action plans and projects. In addition, guidelines for country action will be developed to help the countries prepare national strategies and action plans and implement national measures. The conservation and sustainable use of genetic diversity for food and agriculture is the basis for adapting food and raw material production to changing climatic and environmental conditions and thus contributes to food security and the preservation of biodiversity. |
