Das Forschungsvorhaben VORWERTS untersucht und bewertet die Adoption agrarökologischer Innovation und transformatives Handeln am Beispiel von Weizen-Körnerleguminosen-Mischkultur im Reallabor. Acht regionale Bio-Wertschöpfungsketten werden dazu partizipativ in den Forschungsprozess eingebunden. Das Gesamtziel des Forschungsvorhabens ist es, die Adoption agrarökologischer Innovation und transformatives Handeln am Beispiel von Weizen-Körnerleguminosen-Gemenge zur menschlichen Ernährung unter Praxisbedingungen zu erforschen und optimieren. VORWERTS liefert dabei Anleitungen für die transdisziplinäre Praxisforschung und erarbeitet konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen zur Anwendung und Verbreitung von Weizen-Körnerleguminosen-Mischkulturen in regionalen Bio-Wertschöpfungsketten. Dieser 'use case' soll als 'Blaupause' für zukünftige Reallabore und die strukturierte Begleitungen einschlägiger agrarökologischer Transformationsprozesse dienen. Das Gesamtziel von VORWERTS ist folgendermaßen gegliedert: • Bewertung und Optimierung agrarökologischer Innovation entlang der gesamten Wertschöpfungskette von der Primärerzeugung bis zu den Konsument*innen am Beispiel der Mischkultur von Winterweizen und Körnerleguminosen für die Backwarenherstellung • Bewertung und Optimierung der Produktions- und Verarbeitungsprozesse von Mischkultur-Backweizen entlang der Wertschöpfungskette (Anbau, Ernte, Aufbereitung, Verarbeitung, Vermarktung) • Untersuchung und Bewertung der öko-funktionalen Intensivierung durch Speisedruschfruchtge-menge und der Potenziale einer Entkopplung der Landnutzungskonkurrenz (Futterproduktion vs. menschlicher Ernährung) durch Mischkultur • Etablierung eines praxisnahen Forschungsansatzes zur Analyse und Umsetzung agrarökologischer Innovation in regionalen Bio-Wertschöpfungsketten als sogenanntem 'Reallabor' • Analyse und Förderung transformativen Handelns durch Ko-Produktion von Wissen unter Einbeziehung aller Akteur*innen von der Erzeugung bis zum Endverbrauch. |

The research project VORWERTS investigates and evaluates the adoption of agroecological innovation and transformative action in the case of wheat/grain legume intercropping in a real-life laboratory ('living lab'). Eight regional organic value chains, consisting of at least one farm, one mill and bakery, will be involved in the participative research process. The overall objective of the research project is to explore and optimize the adoption of agroecological innovation and transformative action using the example of wheat-grain legume mixtures for human nutrition under real-life conditions. In doing so, VORWERTS provides guidance for transdisciplinary research and develops concrete recommendations for the application and dissemination of wheat/grain legume intercropping in regional organic value chains. This 'use case' is intended to serve as a 'blueprint' for future living labs and the support of relevant agroecological transformation processes. The overall objective of VORWERTS is structured as follows: - Evaluation and optimization of agroecological innovation along the entire value chain from primary production to consumers using the example of species mixtures of winter wheat and grain legumes for bakery production. - Evaluation and optimization of production and processing of baking wheat from intercropping along the value chain (cultivation, harvesting, separation, processing, marketing) - Investigation and evaluation of the eco-functional intensification through intercropping and the potentials of decoupling land use competition (fodder production vs. human nutrition) through intercropping - Establishment of a practical research approach for the analysis and implementation of agro-ecological innovation in regional organic value chains as a so-called 'real-life laboratory' - Analysis and promotion of transformative action through co-production of knowledge engaging all actors from production to final consumption. |
