| Beschreibung (dt.): | Ziel des Projekts ist die wissenschaftliche Beurteilung eines neuartigen Schweinehaltungssystems ohne Kastenstand und ohne nicht-kurative Eingriffe (Kupier- und Kastrationsverzicht) bei gleichzei-tiger Optimierung des Emissionsmanagements. Mit Hinblick auf die Ziele der Nutztierstrategie zur Verbesserung des Tierwohls stehen tierbezogene Analysen zur Bewertung von Tierwohl anhand des Verhaltens der Tiere in einem Systemvergleich zu herkömmlicher Schweinehaltung im Fokus. Dieser Systemvergleich wird komplettiert durch eine Quantifizierung des allgemeinen Gesundheitsstatus, speziell des Entzündungs- und Nekrosegeschehens einerseits und durch die Messung von Emissionen und Umweltauswirkungen der betriebseigenen Entwicklung zur Kot-Harn-Trennung andererseits. Darüber hinaus erfolgt eine Beurteilung arbeitswirtschaftlicher Parameter, aber auch der Arbeitszufriedenheit im neuen Haltungssystem im Vergleich zum herkömmlichen. |
| Beschreibung (engl.): | The aim of the project is the scientific assessment of a new type of pig housing system without crate stall and without non-curative interventions (no cropping or castration) while at the same time optimizing emissions management. With regard to the goals of the livestock strategy to improve animal welfare, the focus is on animal-related analyzes to assess animal welfare based on the behavior of the animals in a system comparison with conventional pig farming. This system comparison is completed by a quantification of the general health status, especially the inflammation and necrosis, on the one hand, and by the measurement of emissions and environmental impacts of the company's own development of faeces-urine separation on the other. In addition, there is an assessment of work management parameters, but also of job satisfaction in the new housing system compared to the conventional one. A comparison of two husbandry systems on the same farm is used to answer the question of whether the optimized husbandry system contributes to the simultaneous improvement of animal and environmental protection in conventional pig husbandry, and which recommendations for action can be derived from this for politics and agriculture. The project is divided into three modules according to the dimensions to be examined: behavior (module 1), animal health (module 2) and emissions (module 3), which in turn are divided into individual work packages. The production figures routinely recorded by the farm are analyzed across the board and made available to the modules. This includes litter size, losses, weight gain, condition of the sows during lactation, health care and piglet losses (timing, diagnosis). In addition, in a supplementary module 4, the working time in the conventional as well as in the optimized posture is analyzed and an economic evaluation of the optimized system based on this is carried out. In addition, the job satisfaction of the company's employees with the work processes in the two different systems is recorded and assessed. Module 5 is used to prepare and disseminate the knowledge gained for transferring knowledge into practice. |
