| Beschreibung (dt.): | Das Ziel des Projektes ViaMilch ist die datenbasierte Erstellung nutzerfreundlicher (visuell, interaktiv) Arbeitsanleitungen zur Verbesserung des Tierwohls in der Nutztierhaltung und deren anschließende Verwertung. Hierfür soll ein System entwickelt, evaluiert und vermarktet werden, das auf der Grundlage von visuellen und mobil verfügbaren Arbeitsanleitungen produktionstechnische Verfahren optimieren hilft. Dabei stehen Aspekte des Tierwohls (stressarmer Umgang mit Milchkühen) und der Tiergesundheit im Vordergrund (Kälbergesundheit). Das System stellt evidenzbasierte Arbeitsanleitungen für relevante Prozesse im Bereich Kälberaufzucht und dem stressarmen Umgang mit Milchkühen online zur Verfügung. Die Arbeitsanleitungen (Was brauche ich? Wie geht es?) sind visuell, leicht verständlich, interaktiv und mit Hintergrundinformationen (Warum ist das wichtig?) unterfüttert. Ein Lern-Management-System erfasst die Lernerfahrung der Nutzer und den Lernerfolg. Mit am Tier erhobenen Parameter wird die Wirksamkeit verfolgt. Eine derartige Erfassung des Lernverhaltens und der Umsetzung am Tier (Monitoring) stellt eine wesentliche Voraussetzung zur Optimierung tiernaher Produktionsabläufe und der Reduzierung des Stresses bei häufigen Belastungssituationen (u.a. Umstallung, Treiben, Transport) im Sinne eines besseren Tierwohls dar. Die erhobenen Daten erlauben zudem ein zielgruppenspezifisches Marketing in der Verwertungsphase. |
| Beschreibung (engl.): | The objective of the project ViaMilch is to develop a data-based and user-friendly (visual, interactive) standard operating procedures (SOP) to improve animal welfare for food animals with subsequent commercial exploitation. An online system will be developed, evaluated and commercially marketed. This is based on visual and mobile accessible SOPs aiming at optimizing relevant work processes for dairy farms. The focus is on animal welfare (stress reduced cow handling practices) and animal health (calf health). The online system provides evidence-based SOP for relevant processes for calf rearing and cow handling practices. The SOP (What do I need? How do I do it?) are intuitive, visual, and interactive and supplemented with relevant background information (Why is it important?) to increase learner engagement. A learning management system will allow to monitor learning behavior and engagement. It is supposed to determine efficacy with metrics measured calf- or cow-side. Such a data-based evaluation of learning behavior and implementation in the barn allows continuous improvements of work processes and reduction of stressors in day to day situations (e.g. regrouping, driving, transport) with the overall goal to improve animal welfare and animal health. With the data generated marketing activities can be customized to the specific needs of the target audience during the exploitation phase. Scientific studies have demonstrated that SOP are often missing on farms but also show that acceptance of information accessible through mobile devices is high. Therefore, we will develop visual and interactive SOP, which can be accessed by internet devices. These are available without further prerequisites and can be updated easily and if need translated into other languages. Most importantly mobile SOP are available anytime and where they are needed (point-of-need). Usage and interaction of users (what, when, who, how, how long) can be monitored and used for a continuous improvement of the materials. Furthermore, such data allow to document training status and to certify employees for a certain task or requirements such as workers safety training. Clinic of Animal Reproduction (CAR) coordinates development and research activities. CAR is spearheading didactic design and testing of SOPs. Rinderallianz (RA) as a company will provide expertise and imagery for the topic of stress reduction in dairy cows, acquisition of participating farms and commercial exploitation of results. Nine work packages have been identified 1. Characterization of the target audience 2. Human ethics proposal, documentation, data protection issues 3. Development and testing of SOP 4. Acquisition of participants 5. Modelling of implementation of SOP into the work flow 6. Online administration of SOP 7. Data analysis and reporting 8. Transfer of technology into marketable products and services 9. Project management. |
